    A Note From The Owners
We have lived in Forge House since 31st October 1986. We moved to Ullesthorpe initially because we both worked in London and commuted daily from Rugby station, which is very convenient. The village of Ullesthorpe, whilst quite small, has lots of facilities so we don't have to always use a car. There's a shop which sells almost everything (including delicious home made Indian food!) and it is also a Post Office. There is also a good unisex hairdressers, an excellent butchers shop and a doctors' surgery. We have been to some excellent events at the Village hall, which is very well used and caters for all tastes. We have rarely stayed in a house that is so quiet and yet close to major routes all over the country. Our friends and family live in various parts of the UK and Ullesthorpe is conveniently situated to make regular visits, relatively easy, which has been a large part of the joy of living here. Since we retired a few years ago, we take holidays in various parts of the UK, made easier due to good road links, but we are also situated in an ideal place for our foreign trips, with Birmingham Airport about 35 minutes drive away and East Midlands Airport not much further. Since we retired, we spend a lot of time meeting friends at the various cafes in the area, including Palmers Garden Centre, Ullesthorpe Court Hotel, Lanes, Karters and Costa in Lutterworth, The Gardenbarn and The Yard in Cotesbach and the Tithe Barn in Cosby. There is the lovely Chequers pub and restaurant in the village and also a gym, swimming pool and golf course at Ullesthorpe Court which is about 5 minutes away on foot. We have enjoyed plenty of lovely walks directly from the village and others a short drive away including Fosse Meadows and Burbage Common (with another cafe!) We love cinema and theatre, with great theatres within easy reach (Leicester, Northampton, Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry and Stratford upon Avon) and plenty of cinemas in nearby in Leicester and Coventry (the independent Phoenix Cinema in Leicester is one of our favourites as it shows an interesting mix of films including foreign films and others not on general release)
